                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE
                   APPLICATION TO THE GOVERNOR'S PLANNING
                   OFFICE FOR A GRANT ENTITLED "PROJECT
                   D.A.R.E." (DRUG ABUSE RESISTANCE EDUCATION).
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor be and is hereby 
authorized
       to make application to the Governor's Planning Office for a grant 

       entitled "Project D.A.R.E." (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), to 

       be federally funded in the amount of $48,750.00 and locally 
funded
       in the amount of $16,250.00 for the total sum of $65,000.00.
